Goal- You will learn everything about the life cycle of a butterfly and frog. You will learn each stage, characteristics and vocabulary.

 

Role- You will become a puppeteer presenter and work at the Fernbank science center. You will make your own puppets.

 

Audience- You will make puppets, create a play and perform for a kindergarten class visiting Fernbank on their first field trip. 

 

Situation- Mr. Peter, the Fernbank puppeteer, has a bad case of the chicken pox. He cannot come to work until he is all better and Ms. Cutter’s kindergarten class is scheduled for their first field trip! The students are so excited that Mr. Peter will need to cancel because he has called on your class to take over for him. Your job is to make the puppets, make a play about the frog or butterfly life cycle and perform it for Mrs. Cutter’s class. You will be allowed to work with three other students to make the play a learning success.

 

Product/Performance- You will create puppets with the correct parts of each life cycle stage for either a butterfly or frog. You will perform a life cycle play and act out what happens during each stage. Be sure to use the correct vocabulary words. Work together and have fun.
