Performance Task – GRASPS

 

Goal- You will successfully create a classroom store and complete a sale and purchase from the store. You will make a receipt showing the combination of the largest coins you selected for making the purchase.

 

Role- Imagine that your group has decided to open a store. You will select the items that will be sold in your store and you will price those items. You will sort the items by price and make a display case. You will each take turns at being a customer and store keeper and you will pay for your product with money.  The store keeper will make a receipt for the item.

 

Audience - You will show Mr. Okhuysen, an accountant, and Ms. Marshall, his assistant, the inventory (items) in your store with their price tags and you will also show receipts for purchase made.

 

Situation – Mr. Okhuysen your banker is confused about how you have been pricing the items in your store and for what price you have been selling those items. He needs each store owner to demonstrate to him how you have been pricing items, selling items and making cash receipts. Your job is to work in three groups and set up your stores and demonstrate to Mr. Okhuysen and Mrs. Marshall how you have been running your store.

Group #1: Will set up and show the operation of your store using candy.

Group #2: Will set up and show the operation of your store using school supplies.’

Group #3: Will set up and show the operation of your store using small toys.

 

Product/Performance- You will create a store display case, cash drawer, price tags, and label inventory in your store. You will sort the money in the cash drawer into groups by value of the coins.
