Kindergarten Mother and Baby

Performance Task-GRASPS
Goal- The students will work in groups to match pictures of mothers to pictures of the baby that goes with the mother.
Role- The students will become zoo keepers. The students will cut out pictures of different animals that look like mothers and cut out pictures of animals that look like babies.
Audience- The student’s audience will be the manager of the zoo.
Situation- The manager of the Mercer Zoo is short animals to put in the different habitats he has created. He needs some zoo keepers to come and help him find mothers and babies to live in his zoo. The student’s jobs will be to divide up into groups of 4 and work together to find pictures of animals that are alike. There must be a picture of a mother and a picture of a baby for each animal.
Product/Performance- The students will cut out the pictures of the mother or a baby and glue it on one side of a card. There must be a baby to match each mother. The students will be creating a memory game to give to another group to play.
