Performance Task -
GRASPS
Goal- You will create a book jacket that includes the most important
points of a Keats book as well as information on Ezra Jack Keats.
Role- You are an advertiser for a book company
and you have been assigned a book for which you must create a book jacket.
Audience- Children like you who read picture books!
Situation- You have been hired to design the book jacket for your favorite Ezra Jack Keats book. This is the job of a lifetime and you are so excited to show the word what a great author Keats is.
Product/Performance- You will look at book jackets of fiction stories
that you love. While you are looking you will figure out what about those
covers made you want to read them. After you have figured out what makes a good
book cover you will create your own. Your cover must include a front picture
that shows that you understand the main idea of the story. The back cover must
include a “hook” that is a short description of the important story
elements.
