Performance Task – GRASPS

Goal – You will sell a life cycle trip on Mrs. Lancaster’s magic school bus, explaining each stop your traveler will experience along the way. Kudos for extra detail and creativity!

Role – You will be a travel agent.

Audience – You will be presenting your excursion to travelers looking for an exciting trip, one that could not compare to any trip they had ever experienced before. You must pitch your trip idea by showing how your trip is a once in a LIFE CYCLE experience!

Situation – Mrs. Lancaster has borrowed Mrs. Frizzle’s Magic School Bus. She can’t wait for you to book its next trip! She needs to know where our Magic School Bus will be headed next. It is your job to plan an adventure through the Life Cycle of a living organism we have studied. Remember, the Magic School bus ALWAYS gets an up close look… Your job is to create a travel brochure or Power Point presentation detailing every stop and exciting detail of a trip through a living organism’s life cycle.

Product/Performance – You will brainstorm and jot ideas down for your trip. You will organize your trip according to your living organism’s life cycle. You will creatively highlight all of the reasons why Mrs. Lancaster should book the Magic School Bus for your trip. Persuade Mrs. Lancaster and our fellow travelers through a presentation (power point, computer generated brochure, or creatively illustrated advertisement) about why your trip should be the next Magic School Bus adventure!
