Performance Tasks
(GRASPS)
Goal- Students
will discover the significance of different months and what weather, food and
holidays signify the time of year.
Role- Students
will be record keepers; recording the day, month and year for each month.
Audience-
Students will inform the class of their daily recordings and the food they have
chosen.
Situation-
After having kept a record of each day in their Daily Calendar Chart for the
entire year students will be asked to complete and end of the year
project. Students will be asked to
complete (this can be any holiday form any cultural background) and make a dish
that is strongly associated with that holiday and time of year. Students will explain what they have learned
about the season that their holiday falls in.
This will include an explanation of the time of year and any other
information that the class might not know about the holiday. Students will be expected to share their dish
and explain its’ significance. Students
will understand that this holiday is significant to the calendar year and the
changes that occur during each season and the passing of time.
Product/Performance-
Students will record the day, month and year each day in their Calendar
Chart. Students will have turned in the
Calendar Chart for each month to the teacher.
Students will then explain their understanding to the class with the end
