Performance Task – GRASPS

Goal: Students will sort mail according to street name.

Role: Students will become jr. postal workers to help sort mail. The students will accept the unsorted mail challenge and distribute the letters to the appropriate box according to street name.

Audience: Post Office manager, mail carriers, and residents awaiting their mail.

Situation: The Post Office sorter called in sick and it’s the busiest day of the year. The Post Office is understaffed and extremely busy. The head postmaster called and asked if Ms. Vinson’s class could help them out today by sorting the mail.

Product: Sorting the mail by street name, city, and state.
