Performance Tasks – GRASPS

GOAL – You will learn how to tell time and figure how time affects our daily lives. You will figure out how to plan activities according to the amount of time they take.

ROLE – You will take on the role of a travel agent/travel planner. You will create an itinerary for your family or friends for a weekend.  You will write down how long activities take and create a schedule accordingly.

AUDIENCE – You will create a travel guide for your friends or family, who will be able to use the itinerary or travel guide and use it as their schedule.

SITUATION – You will have to pretend you are a travel agent who is planning an outing, or small weekend vacation for a friend or family member. You will need to figure out what activities you want to do and what sights you want to see. Maybe you want to go to a baseball game, maybe you want to go for a walk on the beach. For each activity you need to figure out how much time it will take so that you can create a schedule. Don’t forget that you will need time to eat and sleep, too. When you are done drafting a schedule you will make turn it into a foldable or small brochure. Be creative and have fun!
