Performance
Task-GRASPS
®Goal: You will find out about the roles of elected government officials, the president, governor, or mayor.
®Role:
You will be campaigning for President, Governor, or Mayor. You will draw for your assigned
candidacy.
®Audience:
You will be campaigning to our school’s first grade student body. You will visit a different classroom for one
week.
®Situation:
Our first grade students are learning about the election process and
the jobs of elected government officials on the different levels, national,
state, and local. Your job is to teach
the first grade students about the jobs of the different elected officials.
®Product/Performance:
You will create a campaign advertisement (Poster Board, Brochure, Power point
presentation). Your advertisement should
explain the jobs of that candidate and how you quality for that role/position. Your presentation should be three minutes in length and you will
present your advertisements to the first grade classes.
