Performance Task – GRASPS

Goal  - You will create a book on community helpers.  You will find out the jobs of the different community helpers in your neighborhood.

 

Role – You will be a teacher.  You will research and chart who are the community helpers in the neighborhood and what are their jobs.

 

Audience – You will be presenting your findings to the preschoolers of the Mothers Morning Out Group at the Newton County Library.

 

Situation – The Preschoolers of the Mother Morning Out Group will be learning about the community helpers in their neighborhood.  Ms. Little, the teacher would like for the Preschoolers to learn about the different community helpers in the neighborhood, their jobs, equipment used for their jobs and why they are important.  Your job is to be teachers and create a book on community helpers by working in small groups.

·      Blue Group will research a doctor

·      Red Group will research a teacher

·      Green group will research a baker

·      Yellow Group research a police officer

·      Orange Group will research a fire fighter

 

 

 

Product/Performance – You will create a book of community helpers.  You will complete a chart of each community helper, their job, and what tools or equipment they will need for their job.  You will share what you have learned through the community helper book and each group will give a small presentation to the Preschoolers, Ms. Little, Mothers Morning Out Group, and Newton County Library Staff.
