Performance Task- GRASPS

Goal-   In pairs, you will create a brochure explaining the republican form of government and its branches, which should include details of the makeup of each branch.  The brochure should be informative and persuasive.

           

            Role-   You and your partner will be the lead researcher and expert for the United States government.  You both will use your knowledge to create an informative and persuasive brochure.

           

Audience-  Both you and your partner will be presenting your brochure to an ambassador of a non- republican/democratic government who wants to introduce his or her political powers to a new better form of government.  We will also invite your parents to witness your research and expertise. 

 

Situation- Dr. Jon Yang, ambassador of Kulperiti, is in need of information of the United States government.  He is collecting only the best brochures to take back to his country so that he can persuade his government that there is a more effective way to govern their country.  Your assignment is with a partner create an informative and persuasive brochure for Dr. Yang to take back.

           

Product/Performance- You will individually have research journals that you have compiled throughout the unit that you will add to for the purpose of this brochure.  As partners, you will map out a rough draft of your brochure making sure it has enough text and pictures to support your research.  You will create on the computer a brochure, print it, and present it to Dr. Yang and your parents.   The content of your brochure must be accurate information about republican form of government and its branches.
