Performance Task –
GRASPS
Goal- To raise money for a local homeless shelter to buy much needed scarves for
children living there.
Role – You will be a fundraiser. You will decide on a product (baked goods) to sell for fundraising. You will make a flyer announcing the sale, and the purpose of the sale and then sell your product.
Situation – We received a note from a local homeless shelter explaining that some children that lived there do not own scarves. Since winter is quickly approaching, it would be wonderful if someone in the community would donate scarves to keep these children warm. We can help these children in need by raising money for the shelter to purchase the scarves.
Product/Performance – As a group we will decide on which baked goods to sell. In groups we would create a flyer to advertise what we are doing and for what reason, when we will have the sale and where. We will then distribute these brochures to our friends and families. You will keep a daily log about what you did each day to contribute to this fundraising project. On the day of the sale, parents who have offered to help will bring in all the baked goods and each group will price the items and set up their table to sell with an adult supervising. At the end the groups will complete a sales report as a final product that shows how much money they made and the class will count up all the money together and see how much money has been raised for the shelter.
