Goal – You will make a book about clocks and telling time.  In this book you will draw the parts of a clock and name them.

Performance

Role-  You will be drawing clock faces  and naming the parts.  You will demonstrate how your clock works to Mr. Timekeeper.

 

Situation – You will draw the faces of the analog clock.  Then label the clock faces with the numbers, the hour hands and the minute hands.  You will draw the faces of the digital clock.  Write the numbers that represent the hour and the minutes.  Your booklet will contain the following :

Page 1 – Telling Time by…

Page 2 -- This is the clock face. It has numbers.

Page 3--- This is the hour hand.  It is short.

Page 4 ---This is the minute hand. It is long.

Page 5 ---This is morning time.  I get up.

Page 6--- This is bedtime.  I sleep.

Back Cover – This is my favorite time…

 

Product/ Performance – Mr. Timekeeper will ask you to draw the time that you wake up in the morning and the time that you go to bed at night.  You will show these times on the faces of the analog clock and digital clock.  You also will show and tell Mr. Timekeeper in whole group on the carpet.

 

Standards/ Criteria –MKM3.  Student will tell time as it relates to a daily schedule.

a.     Order daily events

b.    Tell the time when daily events occur, such as morning, afternoon and night.
