Performance Task- GRASPS:

Goal- You will create an accordion picture book of the phases of the Moon.

Role- You will be a non fiction picture book illustrator.

Audience- You will publish your book through Moon Press Inc.

Situation- Moon Press Inc. has asked Dr. Dupree to create a picture book about the phases of the Moon.  However, Dr. Dupree is so busy teaching Astronomy at Agnes Scott that he doesn’t have time.  He suggested our class design the picture books because we are experts in Moon phases.

Product/ Performance- You will create an accordion book that accurately illustrates the moon phases in order and label each phase.  You must also create a summary of the book for the back cover.  The summary must explain why we experience the phases of the Moon here on Earth using correct vocabulary from the science word wall.
