Performance Task: Phases of the Moon

Performance Task- GRASPS:
Goal- You will create an
accordion picture book of the phases of the Moon.
Role- You will be a non
fiction picture book illustrator.
Audience- You will
publish your book through Moon Press Inc.
Situation- Moon Press
Inc. has asked Dr. Dupree to create a picture book about the phases of the
Moon. However, Dr. Dupree is so busy
teaching Astronomy at Agnes Scott that he doesn’t have time. He suggested our class design the picture
books because we are experts in Moon phases.
Product/ Performance- You
will create an accordion book that accurately illustrates the moon phases in
order and label each phase. You must
also create a summary of the book for the back cover. The summary must explain why we experience
the phases of the Moon here on Earth using correct vocabulary from the science
word wall.
