Performance Task- GRASPS
Goal- You will teach a page of your Caring
Community Helpers Book to our principal and Mrs. Smith’s Pre-K class. You will
also dress as the community helper that you teach.
Role- You will be the teacher. You will teach the
class about your favorite community helper.
Audience- You will be teaching our principal, Dr.
Scott, and Mrs. Smith’s Pre-K class.
Situation- I was talking to our Pre-K teacher, Mrs.
Smith, the other day. She said that her students were getting a little confused
about what a community helper was. I explained to her that my wonderful class
was experts on community helpers and that they would be happy to come and teach
the class. Our principal, Dr. Scott, overheard our conversation and asked if
she could come too!
Product/Performance- You will create your Caring Community
Helpers book of the community helpers that you are an expert on throughout the
unit. The community helpers in your book will be a police officer, fire
fighter, mail carrier, teacher, baker, and doctor. Your presentation of
teaching the class will be the final product.
