Performance Task
– GRASPS
Goal – You will know the main idea of a story.
Role- You work at a publishing company and your job is to design an ad for a book that shows the main idea of the book.
Audience -The readers of newspapers and magazines where your ad will be published.
Situation- You are a creative member of the staff at Main Purpose, a very important publishing company. Your company as a new book they are publishing and they want to make an ad so people will be interested in the book and go out and buy it. Your task is to read this book and determine what the main idea is, and make an ad that will show what the book is about.
Product / Performance – You will look through magazines and newspapers to find examples of what you consider to be good ads for a product. You will then figure out what made them good ads to you. Using this knowledge, you will make your own ad for a book you have read. With this ad, you will show your understanding that details lead up to the main idea of the story. You will need to use creativity, good use of color, your knowledge of what makes a good ad, and proper spelling and grammar to make your point. You will present this ad to the class.
