Performance Task Titled: Third Grade Historical American Poster

Performance Task - GRASPS

           

            Goal - You find out the details about a famous American. You will find out their contributions to history. 

Role - You will be a reporter detailing a Famous American's life.  You will make a collection of informational facts must include the following details: personal facts (birth, death, place of birth, death, etc.) family facts, special interests and hobbies, educational background, contributions to society and locations within the U.S. where this person lived and worked.

          Audience - You will be hanging your poster in the hallway for the school to visualize a historical timeline of famous Americans.

 

Situation - You have been assigned by the Glosson Gazette to report on a famous American.  You will have to opportunity to interview this person.  You want to find out the answers to many questions about all aspects of their lives.  You will create a Wanted Poster for the newspaper to publish the American people to read.

 

Product/Performance - You will create a Wanted Poster, which contains a photograph of your famous person, a list of that person's contributions to America, their birth/death date, and other significant information (Remember that a Wanted Poster contains ONLY the most important facts!)  You will also attach a mini-biography of person's family history and route to fame.
